Temperature probe in cylinder cover
If the sensor is in good place is the best way to save the engine. However this depend of the place where the probe is isntalled becaus act by extern contact.
This means that if the probe is in bad place, the measurement wrong and you don't get any protection.
-The most warm place is in the gasket between block and head cup.
-The probe must have the max touch with the hot zone
-You need a thermal isolation with extern air
-The probe is made of glass, do not put pressure on it, do not hit it, or twist it
-DO NOT remove any original sensor of car.
-Avoid that the sensor be cooled by wind.
-The exhaust can affect the measure.
-Do not remove the Head Cup screws, they have a special torque.

Practicals Tips
A) Sometimes ther are holes made for screws not used, some customers put the sensor in the hole and sealed behind.
B) Another way is to use that hole to put a screw and fix a plate that puts pressure on the eva rubber and the sensor.
C) If didnt found a unused hole, can loosen one to put the plate and put it back.
D) Glues. The glues can work well, but you need take care that the most glues lost strength at 100°c (212°f) and is not good that the sensor fall down in the most criticl moment.
Also take care that while the glue dry the sensor can be separated of probe head cup and lost thermal transfer.
E) Some people make a hole, this only can do someone that know the cylinder cover of both sided and take the own risk for the work.
