Multi car sensor and actuator tester

The HMP1 is the most complete tool for mechanics testing, reading and/or emulating almost all car sensors.
It is so complete that it becomes the essential tool for servicing internal combustion vehicles.

Among its functions, we can highlight its ability to read and generate CKP & double CMP pulses simultaneously and the complete test of motorized throttle bodies and many more functions.

There are 3 types of possible actions for each sensor.
[T] Test. It means that the HMP1 can check the operation with the sensor/actuator outside the car (or disconnected)
[R] Reading. It means that you can read the operation without disconnecting it from the car and read/monitor its operation that way.
[E] Emulate. It means that the HMP will act as if it were the sensor so that the injection “believes” that the sensor is in place and working.

Simultaneous CKP and CMP signal generator

The HMP1 can generate pulses that simlate CKP and up to two CMP simultanously, syncronized and according a user defined map.
Can set the crackshaft wheel that you want and create a CMP map according to the engine.
This map can become from one of 4 pre-stored maps, a previous read (Read CKP) or generate by yourself.

The phase map is more detailed in the section READ CKP, please read it for more information about phase map.

1) Disconnect the original sensors and connect the HMP1 (note that the connection on signal generation is different to signal read)

2) Load a pre-stored phonic wheel type (0 do not load anything).
2.1) If you load a pre stored ckp&cmp signal map you will be asked if you want skip or not to step 6
3) Choose the phonic wheel type.
3.1) Total amount of teeth (counting the missing as if exist)
3.2) Missing teeth.
3.3) The cuts ( normally=1, some old injections have 2 or 3 )
3.4) The sensor type to emulate ( 0=hall or 1= Inductive )

Inductive

Generate a sine wave with a cut like an inductive sensor
Inverted Inductive

Generate an inverted sine wave
Hall 0

Generate a digital signal, the missing teeth is 0v
Hall 1

Generate a digital signal, the missing teeth is 5v

The CKP has a missing and one over in other part of wheel

4) Edit intake camshaft map (CMPi)
4.1) Use the + and - keys until see A=0 ( or another number)
4.2) Press OK
4.3) Use the + and - keys until choose to with teeth of CKP match with point A of phase map.
image
4.4) Press OK
4.5) Repeat the step 4.1 to 4.4 with the point B, C and all necesary points that car require.
4.6) As example, the map of the image in the section Read CKP is: A=4,B=18, C=0.
4.7) All maps allways end on zero.
4.8) Must select 0 into the last item to continue.
5) Edit the map of exhaust camshaft (CMPe)
In the same way of point 5 choose
Set the Ae, Be, Ce etc points on exhaust phase map.
The procedure is same as on intake camshaft, if you dont need simply set Ae=0.
6) Choose the RPM:. 400-800-1200-1600 RPM
7) In this moment the HMP will start to generate singals like image
image
And appear on screen the following:
image
A) The point Ai is 20
B) The point Ae is 40
C) Teeth quantity
D) Missing teeth
E) Cuts on each turn
8) A short touch on + or - move one teeth al point of the intake phase ( CMPi ), like move the timing belt one step
9) A long touch ( more than 1 second) on + or - keys alter the exhaust phase ( CMPe ) one teeth, like move the timing belt one step
10) When you finish press Ok and you can store the map for future usage. Choose 0 means do not store and the data will be loosed when power off the HMP1.

NOTA 1: Is very important know that in most cases the ECU will start to send gasoline and spark, so you need ensure that they are unplugged.
NOTA 2: The engine dont will start, because the pulses are not related with the phisical engine positions.
